An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver straight Pembury pattern flatware service made in the Art Deco style; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection.
The pieces of this exceptional and comprehensive antique George V sterling silver cutlery set have been crafted in the Pembury pattern**.
The anterior surface of each fork and spoon handle has an Art Deco style plain paralleling stepped reeded edge with a fancy arched terminal.
Each handle features the contemporary bright cut engraved initial 'D'; the posterior surface of each handle is plain and unembellished.

The fundamental pieces of this Pembury pattern cutlery set have been crafted by the Sheffield silversmith Mappin & Webb Ltd in 1925 and bears the registration number 'RD NO 664560'.

This impressive Mappin and Webb cutlery is fitted to the original, fine and impressive oak lift up lid and well canteen box.
The upper plateau of the box cover incorporates an oval cartouche engraved with the aforementioned contemporary initial 'D'.
The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'Mappin & Webb LTD, London & Sheffield', in addition to item markers.

Condition
This antique flatware service is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
Each component has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
The presentation box has been professionally polished by a cabinet maker.
Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each piece are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
