Circa 1880, set of 8 oak Pugin style dining chairs, comprising 6 side chairs and 2 armchairs. One of the side chairs appears to be slightly later. The chairs have a rectangular top splat with chamfered corners held in position to by two shaped uprights with chamfered facings, held in position by proud oak buttons. The chairs have leather stuff over seats, recently traditionally re-leathered, and stand on turned legs at the front and an elegant slightly swept leg at the back again with chamfered corners. The armchairs are of a similar design with shaped arms with almost hexagonal ends on them, supported by rectangular uprights with chamfered corners. The chairs have been reframed, have good colour and are sturdy.
