Regency period golden amboyna breakfast table with good crossbanded edge in rosewood. Amboyna was technically not a distinct species, but was the name of the burl wood from any of the Pterocarpus species. Most commonly this is Narra, but burl sections of Burma Padauk were also sold under the name Amboyna.
