This seal made from red carnelian has been fashioned into a pendant topped with a silver and gold cap.

The images on the seal show a royal person flanked by a lion and a winged caprid or goat.

The lion was significant in the Near East serving as a symbol of royalty.

Goats also held an important place as they were among the first species to be domesticated as livestock in the region. about 8000 b.c. in the area of Mesopotamia, today’s Middle East. They were important for meat and milk and for material. Hence, they were important to the economy.

This necklace is absolutely stunning and unique.
