English c.1760's Cavalry Horseman's Broadsword. A highly unusual piece and featuring a very wide broadsword blade - is just under 2 inches width at the blade forte. Stamped to both sides with BIRMINGHAM. The basket hilt is in good shape - the hilt pommel is made from painted hardwood - highly unusual feature and appears contemporary. In good, overall condition - a large fighting sword.
