    Pastel depicting a small boy dressed as a girl with a doll on his lap and wearing black brogues with lovely silver buckles, sitting in a Victorian easy chair. Contained in a gilt carved gesso frame which is glazed. Signed J Horsburgh, Edin 1894. John Horsburgh (fl. 1863-1899) was a studio photographer, engraver and artist, working from his premises at 131 Princes Street, Edinburgh.
