Circa 1860, pair of top quality Gainsborough style mahogany library chairs, possibly by “Trollope & Son”. With an arched rectangular back, armrest and stuffover seat covered in wine velvet standing on cabriole legs with foliage and scroll carving. The chairs came from the estate of the late Alfred Esdaile. Born in Bristol in 1896, he rose to become a theatrical impresario showman and successful property developer.
