Pair of Early 20thC French Mahogany Regency Style Side Chairs

A fine pair of French 3rd Republic mahogany chairs in the English Regency style but with a Gallic touch, with triple square-moulded bar back, between shapely rear supports, topped with carved acanthus leaf decoration over a full scroll and united with a plain, square-moulded bar below an open moulded bow and a top rail with scrolled upstand of reeded form with ribbon overlay, over-stuffed seats, newly re-upholstered and finished in calico, to allow for covering in a fabric of your choice, over a reeded frieze with carved roundels at the top of the square-moulded sabre front legs, these great collector's side chairs will impress in the most discerning of homes, whether period-furnished or more contemporary in style, fully-deserving of the envious attention they will undoubtedly attract.

    O/All Width at Seat 43.5cm x O/All Depth 49.5cm (17.25" x 19.5"), Height at Centre of Back 90.5cm (35.75") & Height to Seat 46.5cm (18.25")
Minimum Seat Width at Rear 34cm (13.5"), Maximum Width of Seat at Front 43.5cm (17.25") & Seat Depth 43.5cm (17.25")
    Footprint Width 43.5cm x Depth 52.5cm (17.25" x 20.75")

These chairs are from the first part of the 20thC, so you might expect the mature character & patina that only develops with age but, now restored & re-upholstered*, they're in excellent, clean & sound condition and ready to use in your home.

*Finished in calico for covering in a fabric of your choice.
