DESCRIPTION:
A magnificent, rare original 19th Century Watercolour painting depicting two sheep in an English farmyard setting.
The small, superb quality work portrays this marvellous rural farmyard scene in breathtaking detail.
It is, in fact, one of the highest quality livestock paintings that we have seen in a very long time, and it is quite possible that somebody out there may know which artist created this outstanding work, as, without any doubt, he or she would have been known for this type of work during the 19th Century Period.
The painting is just too good to have been created by a novice or unknown artist, and it could well prove to be the sleeper of the year!
Mounted in a (later) decorative glazed & gilt frame, the painting has a number of earlier inscriptions to the rear of the work, including an old auction label, a price tag of £80 in 1999, and a picture gallery framing label from the Shropshire region during the 1970's, so, should one desire to go on an investigative journey in to the painting's history, there is enough stuff, to begin with a fun research project.
