magnificent french linen press, walnut veneer

A Very Fine French Linen Press/Armoire
Dated around 1900 (Edwardian)

225 cms high x 169 cms wide x 50 cms deepAll original in excellent condition for age. Deep rich walnut veneer to the outside. Original bevelled edge mirror which is large and rather heavy! The doors move freely and all close. The shelving is solid and in good condition. The Press is beautifully made, stands firmly on all of its legs.This Press dismantles right down to panels. It is very simple to put together as most of the pieces slot into each other. The detailing is superb and there is such light wear overall. Please note that on the right hand door as you look at the Press it is missing its keyhole detail. The key works in the main mirrored door and the right hand door. It fits into the lock of the left hand door but the mechanism doesn't actually lock.This Linen Press has stood on the third floor of an old Victorian House in centre of Ipswich for all of its life. It has clearly had light use and has not been moved around too much.This is a superb looking piece of furniture and our photographs hardly do it justice!
