Circa 1810, very stylish late George III/Regency tripod occasional table. The solid, shaped top has a wonderful carved edge. It has its original brass clasp on the back and opens to reveal the original block. The shaft of the table is a combination of turning and wonderful fluting, which is bulbous as it continues down towards the base. Beneath the fluted section there are turned sections and the table stands on 3 elegant reeded sabre legs finishing on simple square toes. The table is an unusual transitional table; the top looking more George III and the base looking Regency, but the top and base are original. The table has good colour and patination.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
