Late 19thC Mahogany Sheraton Style Side Chair, attributed to Waring & Gillow

A singular mahogany side chair, un-marked but attributed to Waring & Gillow, in which case it's from the end of the 19thC and in good condition for its age, with Sheraton style back, of reeded uprights with floral medallions and scrolled capitals, within a moulded top-rail & frame with rounded backs and contiguous with sabre rear legs, a drop-in squab covered in an eau-de-Nil coloured linen fabric, on square, tapering front legs, this rare collector's chair will charm in any tastefully appointed salon or boudoir, whether period-furnished or more contemporary in style, fully-deserving of the admiring attention it is sure to attract from your discerning guests..

    O/All Width 45.5cm x Depth 44.5cm (18" x 17.5"), Height at Centre of Back 90.5cm (35.75") & Height to Seat Frame 43.5cm (17")
Minimum Seat Width at Rear 33.5cm (18"), Maximum Width of Seat at Front 42.5cm (16.75") & Seat Depth 32.5cm (17.75")

This is a late 19thC piece from around 1897-1901, so you may expect the mature character & patina that only develops with considerable age but, although the drop-in squab isn't spotless, it's in good, clean & sound condition for the age of the chair and it's ready to use in your home.
