A highly attractive patinated late 19th century Chinese bronze and champleve enamel vase. A solid, weighty piece of ovoid form, standing 30 cm tall and 20 cm in diameter at the shoulder. with beautiful enamel decoration in taotie, key fret and pendant shield form.
The body is in excellent condition, with no holes, scratches or dents. The base, has clearly been damaged at some point, showing a dent to the bottom rim and the bottom of the vase has come away at some point and been re-glued, this is reflected in the price being asked. When in place, none of this detracts from this amazing piece, which looks stunning on its own or as part of a display.
A great piece for the collector or as part of a wider theme, not to be missed!
