    A highly attractive example of a late 18th century tea caddy, in original white eggshell paint, with foliate steel mounts to top and escutcheon. Age, wear and colouration add to the charm of this excellent antique tea caddy, which also has remnants of the original lead lining to interior.
     
    Unusual, with a striking appearance, the simple yet elegant appearance of this item has ensured it's place in any home design, sitting as a stand alone object or as part of a collection. A truly excellent and unusual piece to be used for decoration, collection or functionally; as the perfect jewellery box.
     
    Provenance:
    This caddy was procured at auction, having been removed from the Old Manse in Alnwick, Northumberland and put up for auction by the executors for the estate.
