Large Imari charger with scalloped rim. Unusual in that it has an impressed mark (for the Yamatoku Kiln). Finely hand painted in traditional Imari colours with gold, c late 19th century. This charger is a quality example of the Imari porcelain ware that was made for export during the Meiji period. It has an unglazed foot and imprints on its underside from supports used during firing. Ground has a blue tint. This charger measures 40 cm in diameter.
