A very large, late Seventeenth century Dutch brass bowl. The bowl is beautifully made, drawn out from a single piece of brass, it is plain in design with simple incised decoration around the edge and slight raised central bosse. This type of bowl can often be seen in Dutch golden age still life painting and was most likely used for making bread. The bowl is in great condition with the odd blemish of age. C.1680.
