'John Horace Hooper' (1852-1906) R.A LISTED 19thc WATERCOLOUR LANDSCAPE PAINTING

    DESCRIPTION:

This is a stunning, intricately detailed original signed & dated 19th Century Watercolour Landscape Painting by 'Royal Academy' listed Artist:

    'John Horace Hooper' (1852-1906)

The impressively sized work depicts a beautiful warm summers afternoon around a rural village riverbank, thought possibly to be the village of Saxmunden, East Suffolk, where Hooper was known to paint prolifically.

    Signed & dated lower-left corner: 'J Horace Hopper 1889'

The wonderful scene portrays a very tranquil rural Summertime river landscape, together with green pastures and a delightful woodland landscape on either side.

On the right of the riverbank are a flock of sheep, grazing, and enjoying the bright sunshine, whilst in the glistering river, there is what appears to portray a young courting couple in love, and enjoying the picturesque location in a Punt type vessel.

Close by, a majestic female Swan can be seen elegantly paddling along the same riverbank, whilst on the other side of the river, a Gentleman is taking his daily stroll with his small pet pooch in toe.

The attention to detail throughout this magnificent Painting is impeccable, and it is clear to see from these images why John Hooper's works were Exhibited so many times in the Royal Academy, and, to name but a few!

Prices for this artist's work are very sustainable, and in most cases, they are also extremely high!

This is an exceptional investment-grade work of art, and it is guaranteed to be a beautiful addition to any avid art collector!

The work remains in exceptional condition, and the colours are vibrant, due mainly to the piece always being protected within a quality glazed frame.

The current frame is a later addition, it is superb quality, mid 20th Century (Circa 1970-1980), glazed, and fitted with a conforming lovely quality stepped inner-slip, which suits the painting beautifully.
