A Japanese Meiji period (1864-1912) bronze and cloisonne enamel standard lamp. The lamp has a circular plinth base inlaid with cloisonne enamel and has four stylised bronze elephants supporting the lamp. The lamp support is profusely decorated with cloisonne enamel and chased work. The enamelling depicts birds and foliage with Japanese deities and figures all in bright colours. The lamp is also decorated with bronze animal head masks in relief along its full height. The lamp has had a lift out turned wood disc made to support the electric lamp holder and cables that sits in the top with the cables going down the interior. The lamp is in good condition.
