A good Georgian figured mahogany card table c1810. Rectangular top with radiused corners and rosewood crossbanding. Table top edges in crossbanded mahogany with central inlaid ebony lines. Central baluster-turned pedestal with ebonised detailing above a shaped platform raised on four sabre legs terminating in original gilt brass hairy lions paw castors. Apron has a framed mahogany central panel and inlaid ebony accents to the four corners, front and side of apron. Inlaid design continued through to the platform and legs. Fold-over top rotates to reveal an internal compartment and opens to reveal a baized playing surface with rosewood crossbanded frieze to match table top. Playing surface re-baized in a period colour using top quality woollen fabric. Restored to a high standard and retaining its original antique finish. The table is 75 cm in height, its top when folded measuring 96.5 cm in width and 48 cm depth.
This card table is in excellent condition commensurate with age. Minor historic marks, wear and repairs as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Restored in our workshop to a very high standard using traditional methods and materials. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
