A magnificent two handled porringer with cover which is embossed with an acorn finial flanked by two embossed shell pattern handles. It is thought to be French pewter dating from the late 19th century and the underside is clearly stamped with a dragon surmounted by the figure 1710 and supported by the letters PK. In addition, there is a separate stamp of a Tudor Rose, crowned with the letters ND above. The body of the piece is of lobed design. In excellent condition.

We are a small independent company, previously Smugglers Cottage Antiques, run by husband and wife Roger & Victoria Garlick. We specialise in bronzes, silver and oriental art and Roger has been in the business for forty years plus, training initially as a jewellery and working for half his life in the West End of London. We use our house as our showroom as well as exhibiting at antique fairs and buying and selling at auction.
