Antique Fragment From A Vietnam Altar Chair

Vietnam
Late 19th century
28 x 9 cm

This is a fragment from a Vietnamese gilt lacquered ritual throne for an idol. The arms would have been carved with carved with dragon heads. Dragons also feature in other parts of the altar such as this example with confronting dragons.
