An unusual and exquisitely decorated pair of Doulton Lambeth pâte-sur-pâte vases by Eliza Simmance, 1881. These stoneware vases are of slender shouldered ovoid form with collar necks. Ppâte-sur-pâte decorated in a stylised foliate and scroll pattern below a floral decorated neck. White slip over a deep olive-green glazed ground. The vases are 17 cm in height. Impressed marks for Doulton Lambeth and dated 1881. Incised monogram for artist Eliza Simmance (ES) together with monograms for assistants Emily London, Alice Barker and Georgina White.
These vases are in excellent original condition. No chips, cracks or restoration. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
