Antique English Porcelain Cake / Cheese Stand ~

This lovely Late 20th Century English Porcelain Cake or Cheese Stand bears all of the hallmarks of Reg Johnson's multi-faceted talent, not only as designer, but also as potter and painter. The wintry sunset scene here depicted, one of three similar examples presently available, superbly painted with a flock of sheep making their way through the snow at the edge of a village, the piece offering the perfect introduction to the works of this talented Staffordshire artist, examples of whose work may now be viewed at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery. This example signed on the reverse, ORIGINAL PAINTING by Reginald Johnson.
