Early 17th c English brass and wrought iron warming pan, with a pierced and decorated brass lid. The outer inscription is still clear " Saint George for England", the central decoration has been largely polished out over the years but the date is still legible (but not clear in the photographs) : 1631. The style, materials and decorative pattern applied to the lid is typical of pans of this period in the 17th century.
