Duncan Bruce (1919-2002) CHARMING 1950's HIGHLAND CATTLE WATERCOLOUR PAINTING
A beautiful little Watercolour painting depicting a very realistic scene in the Highlands of Scotland, with a small herd of Highland cattle grazing, while seemingly looking at the artist inquisitively.
The painting dates to the 1950s and was painted originally by the renowned landscape & Livestock artist:
'Duncan Bruce' (1919-2002)
Starting from the days of being a young soldier in the Second World War, Duncan Bruce (1919 - 2002) spent his life painting the full breadth of the English landscape. Having become a farmer after the war many of his paintings perforce included livestock, though he is also widely known for his coastal works. Duncan exhibited continuously throughout his career. He was a member of both the Association of Sussex Artists and the Chichester Art Society.
Bruce has captured the scene in fabulous detail.
This is one of two paintings we currently have by Duncan Bruce.
The other is similar and is framed in a near identical frame, so they could match as a near pair if one desired to purchase them both.
