Son & pupil of David Cox. Exhibited at RA, NWS, RBA & 579 works at the Royal Watercolour Society
David Cox junior, watercolour painter, was born on 9 July 1809 at Dulwich, to David and Mary Cox. He first exhibited at the Royal Academy (Cottage in Herefordshire) in 1827.
Cox was elected an associate member of the New Society of Painters in Water Colours in 1841 and became a full member in 1845. He resigned in 1846, and was elected an associate of the Society of Painters in Water Colours in 1848.
