A pleasing Late 19th Century Antique English Victorian Oil Lamp, the heavy brass Corinthian column rising from a three tier stepped square base, which has at some time been drilled to take an electric cable. From the turn of the century, following the widespread installation of domestic electricity services, many oil lamps were converted to this new medium, only subsequently to revert, as in this case, to their original use. The fine green vaseline glass font patterned in such a manner as to offer a dimpled effect, with a good clean brass burner, the wick winder buttons each marked T.R.S. This attractive ensemble set off by a really lovely florally moulded and scalloped vaseline glass shade of the period. Replacement clear glass chimney, as one would expect.
