An attractive Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Blue and White Transfer Pottery Serving Dish / Platter by William Davenport & Co. of Longport, Staffordshire, { 1835 - 1869 }, printed in a medium blue palette with an unidentified view which may be from their Rhine or Rhenish Views series. We are pleased to acknowledge the kind assistance of Dick Henrywood of Recorder News for his help in connection with this possible attribution. The reverse with underglaze blue printed Maker's mark as well as an impressed Maker's mark with, although somewhat indistinct, what appears to be the date code for March 1860. All constructive comments and suggestions as to the pattern name, or perhaps the identity of the building illustrated welcome.
