This is a fabulous antique English Sheraton Revival satinwood corner cabinet, attributed toEdwards and Roberts of Wardour Street London, circa 1890 in date.
It dates from the end of the Victorian period and the beginning of the Edwardian period.
It features beautiful crossbanded and inlaid decoration. The glazed pair of top doors open to reveal a blue velvet lined interior with a large shelf above a pair of crossbanded doors that open to reveal a useful cupboard, with a central shelf.
The satinwood has a beautiful patina which can only be acquired over time.
This is a truly fantastic example of the master craftsman's work.

was founded in 1845, and had premises at 21WardourStreet London. By the 1892 they occupied more than a dozen buildings inWardourStreet, where they continued to trade until the end of the century.
They became one of the leading London cabinet makers and retailers working in a variety of styles, both modern and revivalist. Their business also involved retailing, adapting and restoring the finest antique furniture and there are many examples of their earlier furniture with later embellishments bearing their stamp.
