An interesting Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Carpenter's Rabbet or Fillister Plane of good colour, the body of beechwood with brass fittings, stamped in script with the Maker's name viz. Hields Nottingham, an entry for whom, dated June 11th, may be found in The Law Advertiser ~ Vol. 9 ~ Page 324, published in 1831 which reads, "William Hields, Nottingham, Plane-makers and dealers in joiners tools". Further stamped with the artisan's name, viz. J. GRIFFITHS, the plane still retains the larger of it's original two steel blades, the smaller apparently now missing.
