A fine antique Russian miniature fruit knife fob.
Red guilloche enamel with a sterling silver blade and a Russian gold purity mark of '56' on the bale. This stands for 56/96 Zlotniks - equates to 585/100 gold purity.
The silver mark is an oval cartouche with a head and the number '91', and a small Greek alpha letter denoting St Petersburg.A makers mark is also present but difficult to decipher. These marks date the silver piece to no earlier than 1908.
Confition: Overall the guilloche has two areas of wear, one near the bale and another area on the edge, the latter being more a matter of loss of layers of enamel. Please see pictures
The tip of the knife is very slightly uneven, hence does not sit fully inside. This should be easily straightened.
