    Antoine Louis Barye (1796-1875) est probablement le plus grand sculpteur animalier du XIXeme siecle. Cette oeuvre intitulee « le lion au serpent »
    ou « le lion des Tuileries » a ete presentee au salon de Paris de 1833. Realisee en bronze a patine brune et signee a l arriere de la terrasse, sur une plinthe mouluree.

    Antoine Louis Barye (1796-1875) is probably the greatest animal sculptor of the XIXth century. This work entitled "the lion with the serpent" was presented at the Paris salon of 1833. Made in bronze with brown patina and signed behind the terrace, on a molded plinth.
