a early 19th century treen pocket nutmeg grater in the shape of an egg

A lovely early 19th century pocket nutmeg grater in the shape of an egg turned from rosewood. Top half unscrews to reveal the grater which itself unscrews for storage of nutmegs. Pocket nutmeg graters were popular in the late 18th and early 19th century when mulled wine was popular. A great piece of antique treen.
