A delightful watercolour with bodycolour by the acclaimed Victorian artist George Shalders NWS 1826 - 1873, signed and dated 65 In excellent condition. Period frame could be original.
George Shalders was a landscape painter who first exhibited at the RA, Suffolk Street 1848. His views are generally taken from Hampshire, Surrey,Yorkshire, Ireland and Wales. They often contain Sheep.
This picture is an excellent example of his work showing the skill and detail he had for his rendition of landscapes and in particular sheep.
