This clean example is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1926, by the makers B H BRITTON & Sons. The front of the item has a geometric "engine turned" design with an unused cartouche. The hinge is stable and in good working order. The top is a tight fit, as expected due to the self-combustion issues with early matches. The rear of the item continues with the same pattern as that on the front. However the side and top edges are plain. There appears to be little if any wear on the striker part of the item. There is a loop attached to one side in order that this item may be fitted to an Albert Chain or something similar.
Mainly Gold and Silver men's items. Examples are Pocket watches, Albert Watch chains, Fob's, Sovereigns, and other desk items. I also have some individual items of interest to the wider population, but all with a quality element. For more items please visit our website at www.antiquesatinvicta.co.uk
