9ct gold tie slide

This relatively modern piece carry's the full set of hallmarks that you would expect. The front face of this piece carry's an engine turned decoration that is crisp and which does not appear to have any wear. The pattern consists of angled lines that are broken up into sections. The tie slide is of solid construction, and appears to be in general good order.

The reverse is shaped in a type of wave pattern. This seems to give the slide the ability to grip the tie, and therefore stay in place. This edge is plain, with the exception of the Hallmarks. The makers mark is H G & S. This is followed by the numbers 9 and .375, therefore confirming that this is 9 carat gold. Next we can identify that this piece was assayed in Birmingham, by the Anchor symbol. Finally is the date letter, that being W which appears to be 1971.AAI0082
