This heavily constructed Albert Watch Chain comes with an addition fob, in the form of a compass. The T bar displays hallmarks for Birmingham, although there is no mark that can be found. A makers mark is present and appears as L W&C ? Slightly difficult to read. Both strands of the Albert Chain are of graduated form. The thicker links are in the middle of both strings. All links are individually hallmarked as 9ct. Both clasp's at the end of the chain appear to be in good working order, although they may have been replaced from the originals. Attached as a fob to this chain, is a compass pendant. The glass front and rear of the compass is complete. The compass itself appears to work. There are some missing edges to the compass. No marks are found on the compass itself. This item comes in a small box from REID & SONS, Newcastle-On-Tyne. Possibly not original.
