WICKWAR & CO. 6 POLAND ST. Mnfrs. to H.M. Stationery Office,
An Unusual Mid 19th Century Black Morocco Leather Despatch, Documents, Writing Box with a recessed brass handle at the rear, and a drop front. The front falls forward when two buttons at either side of the interior are pressed. This is the first box of this type I have seen with this feature. It gives you easy access to documents even when the box is closed. The black leather lined interior has raised sides & contains a removable desk tidy, pen tray and ink bottle. Inside the lid a trellis of leather straps keeps small papers etc. in order. On the right side a pair of studs gives the box extra rigidity in the event of an impact. The lock is stamped Bramah Patent London and has a replacement key. The maker's details are gold embossed on either side of the lock.
Please note that this price may NOT include delivery charges which the seller may charge extra for.
