An Edwardian Oak Tobacconist's Counter-Top Display Cabinet for dispensing individual cheroots & cigarettes, with a pair of horizontal bevelled glass top panels and glazed sides, having two drawers with glass sides each divided into two, the front panels at both ends decorated with applied brass & with brass knobs. Both drawers can be opened from each end, and one of them can be locked. A brass plaque engraved with the monogram 'A.B'. is mounted on the far end between the glass panels, and another, engraved 'July 1908' at the near end. At the back inside one of the drawers a brass tab shows the registration mark 'Rd. No. 372995/2' which tells us that the design was registered in 1901. The brass trade label inside the other drawer is engraved with the name & address of the retailer:
'A. Harey. 23 Bde. des Capucines Paris'.
