19thC Mahogany Bow-Fronted Low Boy with Turned & Tapering Legs on Brass Casters

A strikingly singular mahogany low boy from around 1820-40, in very good condition with bow-front and serpentine gallery back, richly-grained and intense in colour throughout, with solid top, over-sailing at sides & rear, having a single full-width drawer masquerading as two in-line, over two deep & short drawers, all with flame veneered fronts, cock-beaded and with brass roundel plates and ring-pulls and brass escutcheons but no keys, the kneehole with quarter-segment brackets, strongly carved with leaves, over a segmental moulding, all on ring-turned & tapering legs and original brass casters, this wonderful piece will impress in the most elegant period-furnished reception room or study, fully-deserving of the admiring attention it will surely attract.

    O/All Width 100cm x Depth 53.5cm (39.35" x 21"), O/All Height 95cm (37.5") & Height to Top 82cm (32.25")

This piece dates from the first half of the 19thC, so you may expect the mature character & patina that only comes with considerable age but, now professionally & sympathetically restored, it's in very good, clean & sound condition, ready to use in your home.
