Antique 19C Victorian carved mixed wood (walnut, satin birch and beech) armchair.
Quality, attractive and well made armchair, with no loose joints (slight movement in the arms, but all is very strong) or wobbles.
The rear castors have been removed as is fashionable, but the seat is still relatively level.
Great proportions and styling, which would look amazing in the right location.
The upholstery is not new, with wear and marks.
Overall maximum dimensions:
69cmW x 88cmD x 97cmH (37cmH seat when sat on).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture of this age. Historical repairs, as is the norm, but all is solid now. We have not inspected components concealed beneath the upholstery, but the seat is quite comfortable without the typical lumps and bumps of an antique chair. There are some historical woodworm holes (believed extinct) that we have treated for good measure. Wear to front castors as is to be expected.
