A nice example of an 18th-century multi-series, opaque twist wine glass, made from quality lead glass. The stem includes internal white mesh and attractive opaque/white twist features. With typical ogee bowl and conical foot and rough pontil mark.
The glass has a charming simplicity to its overall design and is in fine condition for its age, with no chips or losses to any part. There is some light scratching to the foot and some circular scratch marks to the lower section of the stem. On close scrutiny, this does appear to be from a repair to re-attach stem to foot. Internal mesh and twist still appear to be in perfect condition. There are some inclusions to the glass from the manufacturing process which are often seen in glass from this period and add to its charm. Images of each section are provided demonstrating condition.
