Antique rare 18C Georgian Gothic carved walnut armchair throne chair leather.
This rare chair came from the Master's Lodge, Trinity College, Cambridge.
This is an early Georgian walnut chair with later (maybe 50 years old) leather upholstery.
Fantastic Gothic styling and lovely wear/patination.
Solid, heavy and no loose joints.
Great proportions and styling, which would look amazing in the right location.
Overall maximum dimensions:
65cmW x 63cmD x 115cmH (45cmH seat, 65cmH arms).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture of this age. The back may have been cane originally and has had repairs/strengthening from behind. We have not inspected beneath the upholstery. As is to be expected with Georgian walnut furniture there are a lot of woodworm holes, but these are extinct and have been treated for good measure (the chair is still strong and usable).
