Stephen Webster Moonface brooch

Stephen Webster Moonface brooch
Popular in the 19th century, this is a late 20th century interpretation of a Victorian moon-face brooch made in 1991 by the now fashionable jeweller Stephen Webster. The moonface is carved in Labradorite, a member of the moonstone family, which displays flashes of brilliant blue as the light hits it. Like moonstone, Labradorite, because of its structure, is very difficult to carve successfully.
The mounting is in London hall-marked 18ct gold, and is set with cabochon sapphire and emerals, cultured pearls, and tiny diamond highlights.
Width: 2 1/2 inches: 63 mm

I specialise in high-quality old jewellery, mostly late 19th and 20th century, of interesting and unusual design. After having a succession of shops in the West End over forty years, and having a achieved a high reputation and profile with the public, I decided to close my last shop in 2005, and now I trade solely over the internet, or by person-to-person contact with clients.
