Circa 1890, late Victorian mahogany three tier buffet. The stylish back ledge is shaped and has a heavy moulded fore edge. Beneath this there is a solid mahogany top, again with a nice moulding, over two drawers with beaded faces and cast brass swan neck handles with brass back plates. There is a simple apron with rounded corners which continues around the sides. There are two further shelves, supported by turned tapering columns almost in the form of cannon barrels. Each of the shelves has a moulded fore edge on all sides. Beneath the bottom shelf the whole piece stands on fours simple bulbous turned feet. Excellent condition, good colour and sturdy.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
