Circa 1890, late Victorian mahogany 3 door cabinet bookcase. The simple but stylish cornice with a moulded section beneath. There are 3 glazed doors with arched tops, a single section on the right with 4 adjustable shelves and on the left side a pair of doors again with 4 adjustable shelves inside. The shelves are polished with a scratch carving on the front. Beneath the doors is a small flat section with a double ogee moulding, above 3 drawers with raised panel fronts and original cast brass handles. There are three further panelled doors with arches similar to those on the top. Inside these are a single shelf in the centre. The whole bookcase stands on an enclosed plinth. Good colour, clean and functional.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
