Circa 1780, George III mahogany bureau bookcase. The top has a classical arched pediment with Greek key decoration, a cut out centre and a brass ball with eagle on top, above a dentil cornice and 2 doors with classic astragal glazing. Inside are adjustable shelves. Below the top is the bureau which opens to reveal a simple but stylish interior of pigeon holes and various sized drawers with brass handles. The writing surface is lined with green felt. Below the writing surface are 4 graduating drawers, a simple moulding and bracket feet which also have open fretwork.
