18th century elm boarded chest or six plank coffer
Often known as six plank coffers but more correctly referred to as a boarded chest, this is a nice 18th century example in elm. The chest has lovely proportions and sits a little higher than normal on the v-cut end boards. The colour and patination are very good. The hinges are later - probably 19th century. Measuring: 112 cm wide, 61 cm high and 38 cm deep (approx) British, early 18th century
