    A 19th Century Marquetry Inlaid Trifold writing slope / Sewing box.
     
    This box is possibly French from the Napoleon III period. It has been crafted to a fantastic quality. The Intricate Marquetry Inlay pops against the contrasting Burrwood.
     
    This box unlocks to reveal a sewing compartment, it features a second fold to reveal a writing slope beneath.
     
    Offered in great condition. There are no substantial damages to the box. One hinge has unfortunately broken, as such the trifold writing slope is attached with one hinge. Under close inspection some age related surface marking can be found with further white markings to rear. But overall there is no evidence the box has been dropped, it is clear the box has been cherished and looked after.
     
    The interior is very clean for its age and requires little attention. A glass Inkwell is also included.
     
    The provided key works the lock freely.
     
    Overall this box is a real survivor and would make a great statement piece.
